  to

    breathe

For several years, Rosalie Bea worked composing for other artists, before working on her own music to build her authentic universe. Also a graphic designer, the artist wants to use digital technology to mix forms of expression together, both music and design. Music to Breathe is her first album, produced by Francis Ledoux (Helena Deland, Jesse Mac Cormack). Seven songs with all the same peculiarity of evoking a sense of serenity, serenity that was a necessary need in the early twenties, when she had to learn how to survive the deep feeling of being uprooted. Music to breathe is the hope of learning to grow by continuing to listen to yourself, to go at your own pace, and to embrace our vulnerability as much as our strength.

01 calm

calm will return
it kept me waiting, it kept me waiting
it kept me not knowing
but storm will be over soon
i swore "i won't change"
but i did

i did

we are the silver lining
in any and every dark cloud we could find
there is no need to go looking
for the light when you bring it with you

time was crual
it kept me asking, it kept me praying
it kept me not knowing
but storm will be over soon
i swore "i won't change"
but i did

i did

we are the silver lining
in any and every dark cloud we could find
there is no need to go looking
for the light when you bring it with you

02 walk away

never would i walk away
never would i leave like this
i did love the city where the rain
was the perfume of my days

will i be wise enough to forget that
there's no rest when i dream
of this place i might never see again
or this man once i loved

oh ah um
i will let it go

friends, where are they
living all around the world
all around my head

03 poem

i count the syllabes
of your laughter
and wait for the lines breaks
of your long deep breath

i may be a writer
but you're a poem

when i am old
rather old and grey
i want to fill my lungs
with your perfume

i may be a writer
but you're a poem
i may be a writer
but you're a poem

don't ever play, don't ever play the game
where you kiss, where i hurt
you will run out of lips
you will run out of air

i may be a writer
but you're a poem
i may be a writer
but you're a poem

05 here and now

how could i tell you

i am the one

how could we know?

how could we know

how could you promise

you'll always love me

how could we know?

how could we know

all that we have is here and now

how could you promise

you'll always love me

how could we know?

how could we know

all that we have is here and now

and in this i trust

and in this i trust

in us

07 for your lasts

i will never be the first

of so many things for you

i came too late, after love and life

were woven into your days

but i don't care about lost firsts

'cause I will fight for your lasts

you will never be the first

of so many things for me

you came too late, after love and life

were woven into my days

but i don't care about lost firsts

'cause I will fight for your lasts

take the old firsts and but them to rest

silent below the dirt and ash

of all the new ones

we will burn through

take them, but give me the lasts

i don't care about lost firsts

'cause I will fight for your lasts

04 home

it is not your fault if

i need to go sometimes

i need to escape

and catch up with my breath

there's the city on one side

and my heart on the other

a window closed between my body

and this place

and home is where

i can hear, i can hear

the sounds of the land

it is not your fault if

i need to go sometimes

i feel i'm stuck in a fight

i cannot win

there's the city on one side

and my heart on the other

a window closed between my body

and this place

and home is where

i can hear, i can hear

the sounds of the land

i should run away

i could run away

but i can't run away this time

i will learn to stay

i will learn to stay

until i call this place my home

06 summer ends

can you tell why the wind is slowing down?

to let us taste the sun

oceans are such a perfect playground

and you make my heart fly

summer is coming to an end

summer is coming to an end

and you won't hold me in your arms

my body won't feel warm

and i'll pretend "i am strong

i don't need, i don't need, i don't need you here."

all the roads lead to love you told me

i felt sweetness in your voice

your fast car, it feels like home

for the first time, the world is safe

summer is coming to an end

summer is coming to an end

and you won't hold me in your arms

my body won't feel warm

and i'll pretend "i am strong

i don't need, i don't need, i don't need you here."

if we are only

only made to me

a dream then let me

let me set love free

if we are only

only made to me

a dream then let me

let me dream it
